Sob, oh gasp, horror! Oh the pain of it all! I just can't bear it! Saint Michael Jackson has gone off to the great scratching post in the sky! Give me a break. The thought of this makes my tail shudder! Now that he's about to be planted the guy is considered to be such a wonderful human being who is worthy of being mourned in the House of Representatives. My guess is that there are some people, like the parents of some little boys, who are not all that sorry that Saint Michael is no longer with us.

Now don't get me wrong. I'm sorry he's about to be pushing up daisies. Death is a very painful thing and I ask God to be with those who loved him. But let's get a sense of proportion here.  How many people died by gun violence in our cities during the last 24 hours? How many people died of AIDS? How many died because they could not afford health insurance? How many protesters in Iran were killed by the Iranian secret police? How many of our soldiers were killed or wounded in the last day? How many people died from suicide bombings?

I think you get the idea. So unless you were a family member or close friend, drop it! Commend Saint Mikies' soul to the Holy One and get on with looking at the real problems in the world.
