I see the Republirats are at it again! They're trying to get back to the issues on which they can make their right wing sicko voters froth at the mouth. It's happening in the midst of work on appropriation bills. "The gays are coming! They're going to force everyone to get an abortion when they get here." Give me a break! It's dirtier than my litter box after it hasn't been cleaned for days.

There may be a few Republirats that actually care about these issues. But I bet there aren't very many. They simply know what levers to pull to motivate the nutsos. It's all as cynical as a decleration of everlasting love from a hooker.

Give it a break folks We have real problems in this country. How about joining with the rest of the nation to solve them for a change instead of continuing to soil your souls with such mindless drivel.

Did you think that the murder of one abortion provider was the end? I have my doubts. Check out these quotes from the "Abortion Vigilantism Worksheet" http://www.americanrighttolife.org/

"Jesus observed that those who live by violence will perish by violence as the New Testament further states, 'He who kills with the sword must be killed with the sword' which command is described as 'the faith of the saints.'"

"Lethal force in a park to save a child is just. Why is it wrong against an abortionist?"

Now a couple of those quotes seem to contradict each other. Somehow that does not seem to bother them too much. Their arguments are made in reasoned language. To me, that's a lot more chilling than if they were made in rants and raves. What this organization, and others like them, preach is an incredible perversion of the Christian faith.

 Yes, their right to speak is guaranteed by the constitution, but where does that right cross into incitement to murder?I think the line is already crossed. And as I've written in previous cat blog entries, it is now moving rapidly from incitement to murder to murder itself. Lord, God, save us from those who preach murder in your name. Mr. President, members of congress, judges of all levels of courts, this has to stop.

Taking a look at the right wing media is a fascinating occupation these days.  The more we move away from the hate filled politics of Bush/Cheney the louder they scream.  The world's falling in. The President is going to annex us to Iran.  Closing a center of torture will cause us terrorists to over run us.  The volume of hate just gets louder and louder. Their noise bothers me so much that I just "unfollowed" a particular individual on Twitter today. I just couldn't take her deluge of right wing propaganda.

But I just may turn around and follow her again because right wing rants are a good barometer of what's going on in this country. They get louder, because the country is rejecting their path; a path I can only call evil.  There are set backs. California's court rejected gay marriage. But it became legal in other states. The Presbyterian Church rejected the ordination of gays and lesbians. But the vote was a lot closer than it has ever been before. A right winger murdered an a doctor who gave women the right to choose. But in the light of his act the hate filled spewing of many "pro-life" groups is seen by many in a brand new, and clearer light.

The right wing, the way of hate, war, and intolerance can only win if we let it win.  And right now, thanks be to God, power seems to be slipping far away from their grasp.

Did you even meet someone who you thought was a good argument for retroactive birth control? If not, meet Scott Roeder, the anti-abortion dude being held for murdering a doctor.  Roeder said that there are more murders yet to come, "I know there are many other similar events planned around the country as long as abortion remains legal."

I think that statement is even more fascinating than a well chewed catnip mouse. Here we have someone who claims to be "pro life" who is enthusiastic about putting people to death. Of course, pro-life seems to mean it's OK for you to live as long as you believe like I believe.

There are some real sickos at the heart of right wing  radical movements, but to tell the truth, there is another problem here that has nothing to do with Scott Roeder.  If this wacko had not been able to buy a gun there's an excellent chance the doctor would still be alive. Of course the NRA says that people, and not guns, kill people. Yeah, right. Tell you what, everybody at the NRA should be required to hang around a city morgue on Saturday night. Take a look at the bodies and tell us all how it was that those bullet holes in the bodies were not caused by guns.

I'm sure you've heard the news by now. This weekend, a doctor was murdered in church. The members of "Operation Resuce," a radical anti-abortion group, called the murder "a cowardly act." Why were they interested in the murder at all? Because the doctor performed abortions.

"A cowardly act." That's not exactly what I'd call condemnation. And of course Operation Rescue could not totally disclaim the act because it was part of a pattern of assaults on the doctor and his clinic. It is also a continuation of the right wing politics of hate. They've learned all too well how to stir up support by faking outrage and verbally assaulting anyone who dares to disagree with them.

Once upon a time I was what I'd call an independent. I would vote for a person based on their record whether or not they were a republican or a democrat.  Then along came Cheny, Bush, Newt, and Rush and a lot of right wing fundies who took over the republican party. They started their campaign of vicious and hate filled politics. As a result the nature of political debate in this country changed radically. Also as a result I became very different in my voting patterns. I became something very strange for a cat. I became a yellow dog democrat. Yes indeed, I would vote for a old yellow dog who lies in the dust as long as that dog is a democrat. I don't believe I will ever vote for a republican again. 

I believe the right wing of the republican party is directly responsible for the doctor's murder. The rest of the party did not stop the right wing's hate campaign. I think they are also guilty by means of their inaction.

Please join me in mourning the murder of a person who aided women in their right of choice. Please join me in repudiating the politics of hate. Let's get rid of a party who can generate this vitriol; vitriol that can, I believe, can lead to murder.

I see on the news that some humans were not very nice to President Obama when talked at Nortre Dame. Personally I'm not sure I would want to talk to a dame named Notre, but that's besides the point. Anyway, these people who were not being nice were mad because the President supports a woman's right to choose. They don't like abortion.

I can understand that. I don't like the idea of abortion either. But women are going to have abortions whether or not I like it. I don't want them to be in danger when they have them so I think abortions need to remain safe and legal.  Anyway, I think a boy cat like me would have a lot of nerve if I told a girl cat what she could do with her body.

If you don't like abortions, work toward the day when no one has to have them. In other words stop talking about abstinence in schools, which by the way doesn't work too well anyway, and promote sex education that will tell people how not to have babies.  In the mean time, keep you nose out of other people's morals. Who was it that said we should look for the log in our eye before we dare to look for the splinter in another person's eye? Good advice I think, and way to go Mr. President!
